Take Over Control Of Your Spiritual Destiny

A middle aged lady walked to me one day complaining about the troubles in her life. She blamed her father for all vicissitudes that have bedeviled her life. The father was what we call her IKOR in Benin theology.

I wrote about the IKOR in TAKE OVER CONTROL (TOC) as follows, “The ikor is the person, entity, spirit form, institution, organization, or being, who monitors the victim closely; every step with the sole purpose of frustrating the victim’s every attempt in life. The ikor seeks to be the only God of the victim, who determines the victim’s fate, fortune, and future. THE IKOR PREYS MAINLY ON FRIENDS (OR THOSE WHO SURRENDER OR BELONG TO THE SAME SOCIETY AND THE LIKE) . . . Ikor may come under different guises, which include the following: priests, pastors, imams, in-laws, cousins, classmates, neighbors, students, apprentices, clients, FATHER, mother, children, confidant, etc. You will not succeed in life until you identify, and TRIUMPH over your ikor. The ikor banishes the Devil into unemployment-status (in Africa). She included incestuous advances in her litany of her father’s sins against her.

I interviewed her; she concluded by calling her father her ENEMY who must be eliminated. Most persons do not use the more technical term of ikor. I asked if it would not be enough to just triumph over him without killing him. Her reply was emphatic NO. Our people believe that one was not likely to be free from the evils that the ikor perpetrates against one as long as he/she lives. Hence, her conclusion that he must die was quite consistent with tradition. My problem with this request, is that as Oboiro, I am not allowed to kill unless in self-defense. I should not be on the same level as a common thug or assassin.

I told her point blank that I cannot kill the father with the spiritual powers that everyone knows to go with the title of Oboiro. What is unknown to the majority is that the Oboiro is one of the mediums that intercede on behalf of Oghodua almighty. Hence, that role is incompatible with being one that assassinates others on contract; albeit through non-physical means. Added to the role defined by tradition, is my destiny to launch the race to realize the COVENANT WITH OGHODUA Almighty, namely that ERE should be our guide.

There was historical Ere who ruled as Ogiso (the traditional title of the Divine ruler of two thousand years ago) in ca 50. The kingdom that has become Edo or Benin kingdom in Nigeria was called Igodomigodo). He is our Lawgiver like Prophet Moses is to Israel. (See ISREDO). Hence, the injunction that, “ERE should guide and defend humankind through us” (Ere dia uwa n’ emwan n’ agbon) should determine world history positively. I have already announced the plans (by ISREDO) to celebrate THE DAY OF COVENANT towards the end of March this year.

People may not be pleased with me, when I disclose here as elsewhere, that this is not the only type of contracts that “witchdoctors” and voodoo priests revel in. On offer for fees are means to afflict “enemies” with madness, hyena, hyper tension, diabetes, leprous, etc. Whether or not these means are efficacious is not the issue. The issue is what I called episteme in TOC (TOC chapter Eight).

What mark of wickedness is one that undertakes to invent means for spreading diseases diabolically? Our people are under perpetual warfare being waged through the priesthood or by them through their clients on the citizenry.

They may consider it “unprofessional” that I disclose this part of our tradition (washing our dirty linen on the Internet). This should show that I am not of the profession of witchdoctors and voodoo priests.

I warned her of the possible repercussions from our ancestors. I dismissed her hoping not to see her again. She turned up recently to complain about some spiritual problems. I elicited from her that she found someone else who could JOIN her to kill her father. They have started the process. Now she is receiving the reply from ANCESTORS. Others have not succeeded in pacifying the ancestors. She now comes to me to help her where all others have failed. She is guilty of violating one of the Laws of ERE. I told her candidly to face them without my help. As judges say, “My hands are tied”.
